Ganga Yoga Teacher Training
December 30th, 2024 – January 20th, 2025
at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh and Parmarth Niketan Kumbh Camp, Prayagraj
Instructions in English
The Ganga Yoga Teacher Training is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher training that incorporates Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, Meditation, Chanting, Ayurveda and the elements, Vedic philosophy and story-telling, Atma Vichara, soul-cultivating transformative practices, Ganga Seva, Ganga Puja + intimate wisdom talks from Sages & Yogis who embody the spirit of Maa Ganga. You will learn to teach a morning and an evening practice and will be inspired to live your life from the heart.
What makes this training extraordinary and unique is three-fold:
- It is very experiential: You experience Ganga, her grace and her powers, and through the practice you cultivate and embody this experience in tangible ways, to “take Ganga home” and water the world with this abundant, unifying flow.
- You will be immersed in the sacred land of Yoga, surrounded daily with sages and ancient rituals, meeting wise holy ones, and exposed all day, every day to the wisdom of Yoga at its source. GYTT includes daily Satsang with Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawatiji, chanting with Pujya Mataji, and interactions with wise and devoted Ganga Yogis.
- This training focuses on developing Ganga Consciousness, being aware of the Divine Grace or unconditional flow of Prana, and how we expand it to care for our world, including an environmental consciousness which converts to action. The Ganga Sutras you will learn help give structure and inspiration to maintain Ganga Consciousness in an uninhibited, unobstructed and unpolluted flow.
Ganga Yoga is inspired by H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji of Parmarth Niketan Ashram where most of the Training is held, and who will be in residence for darshan. Pujya Swamiji’s moto in life is, “In the Service of God and humanity.” Selflessly dedicated to the welfare of all, He innovates and leads numerous, global humanitarian service initiatives. His example encourages us to be more like Ganga who “gives and gives without hesitation, limitation, reservation or vacation.”
Through this Ganga Yoga TT we strive to flow and give unconditionally, tapping deep into the source of love and oneness in our being which allows selfless and tireless service to flow forth.
The Ganga Yoga Training has Seva at its heart, and supports The Divine Shakti Foundation, led by Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswatiji. During our Training we will have the opportunity to contribute to one of the many projects, such as schools, girls orphanage, women’s collectives, local health, animal care and the WASH (water, sanitation & hygiene) programs. You can learn more about these various divine services here.
We will also explore Seva as a river of the heart, looking at where your heart energy can best flow – in your life and in the world where you live.
In addition to learning beautiful practices to uplift your life and exalt your heart, you will receive from this class a learning guide that includes Ganga Yoga sequences, the mantras and sounds of the banks of Maa Ganga, and divine meditations to access and embody Ganga Consciousness. At the end of our retreat, you will also receive a thumb drive with Ganga music, Ganga Aarti, Satsang, recordings of our classes, and pictures from our GYTT.
In addition to our 21 day training additional requirements include some (minimal) required reading, teaching 3 classes after the training, 5 hours volunteering, plus a follow-up Zoom meeting with course leaders.
